Check out our newest contribution to Columbus!

The Folk Art Musuem, recently opened in March 2024 in Columbus, GA, is part of the Columbus Collective Museums—a unique hub that showcases diverse collections celebrating local art and culture. This museum is the first dedicated folk art institution in Columbus, designed to spotlight the Chattahoochee Valley’s vibrant folk art scene. It offers visitors an immersive experience through works that capture the spirit, heritage, and creativity of local artists.

Exhibitions and Features from Local Artist!

The Museum features pieces from notable regional folk artists, including Butch Anthony, Jarrod Turner, and Purvis Young. In addition to art displays, visitors can engage with interactive exhibits, which allow them to explore the stories and materials behind the artwork. There’s also a gallery space where visitors can buy and trade folk art, creating a dynamic community exchange around art and cultural history. The museum aims to foster appreciation for folk art while preserving the legacy of artists like Eddie Owens Martin, who was instrumental in the region’s folk art movement
